This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NCG550427. A summary of the findings and comments noted during the inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report. The Compliance Evaluation inspection was conducted by Division of Water Resources staff from the Asheville Regional Office. This inspection was conducted to determine if the system is being operated and maintained in compliance with General NPDES Permit No. NCG550000. Prior to the inspection, Ms. Armeni spoke with Mr. Jimmy Davenport (owner). Mr. Davenport indicated that the property is occupied for a few days each week, and is used as more of a hobby house. Septic Tank: The septic tank was located, but maintenance records were not available. Mr. Davenport stated that he was on the schedule to get the septic tank pumped, and will submit the receipt after it is pumped. The septic tank should be checked yearly to determine if solids must be removed or if other maintenance is necessary. Effluent Pipe: The effluent pipe could not be located. Mr. Davenport stated that he would send pictures of the effluent pipe and receiving stream, and would mark the location of the pipe. Effluent Sampling: Mr. Davenport indicated that the effluent pipe discharges, but sampling has not been conducted. Ms. Armeni emailed a list of certified labs to Mr. Davenport, and he stated that he would contact a lab to get the sampling done. If the effluent pipe discharges, annual sampling is required per General Permit NCG550000.
