RE: Storm Water Plan Resubmittal, Kenlan Farms Phase II, Harnett County, North Carolina
Robert;
We are resubmitting the Phase II Storm Water revisions for Kenlan Farms Phase II per your review
letter dated January 14. The comments were addressed below:
1. The original signed and notarized deed restriction is included.
2. The % BUA for the entire tract is 16.3%. The impervious area of the total tract is 208,775 sf.
The total drainage area would be 29.45 acres resulting in a 16.3% BUA.
3. The 30' vegetated buffer has been shown along Fairy Fair Creek.
4. The revised drawdown calculation is enclosed. The orifice size was reduced to 2.25". The
additional 2" orifice shown on the original calculations is for a secondary dra'wdown. It has
been changed to 0 in the resubmittal.
5. The updated calculations and plan sheets are enclosed to correspond to the revisions.
look forward to working with you on this project. If you have any questions or concerns, please
feel free to contact us.

Subject: Request for Additional Information
Stormwater Project No. SW6130102
Kenlan Farms Phase 11
Harnett County
The Division of Water Quality Central Office received a Stormwater Management Permit Application for the
subject project on January 7, 2013. A preliminary review of that information has determined that the
application is not complete. The following information is needed to continue the stormwater review:
✓ 1. The deed restrictions form submitted was not signed and notarized. Please submit the form with
an original signature.
,,,2. What is the overall % BUA and total number of lots proposed for this Phase 11 project (not just the
DA to the proposed pond)?
3. Please show the required 30' setback from the top of bank of Fairy Fair Creek on the plans.
4. The 3.5" orifice proposed for the pond is too large. The orifice must be sized to discharge the 1"
treatment volume (17,059 co over 2-5 days, not the larger temporary pool volume (31,709 Co.
Also, what is the additional 2" orifice shown in the calculations, but not on the plans?
5. Please be sure any revisions are consistently shown on all plans, calculations, and forms.
Please note that this request for additional information is in response to a preliminary review. The requested
information should be received by this Office prior to February 13, 2013, or the application will be returned
as incomplete. The return of a project will necessitate resubmittal of all required items, including the
application fee.
If you need additional time to submit the information, please mail or fax your request for a time extension to
the Division at the address and fax number at the bottom of this letter. The request must indicate the date by
which you expect to submit the required information. The Division is allowed 90 days from the receipt of a
completed application to issue the permit.

Re: Seasonal high water table determination (SHWT) for storruwater retention area
proposed Kenlan Farms Subdivision (Phase 2), off Kenlan Road, Hamen County, North
Carolina
Dear Mr. Brown,
An evaluation of soil properties at the proposed sediment pond site on the aforementioned
property has been conducted at your request The purpose of the investigation was to
determine soil water table depths for use in stonnwater retention pond design.
Soils at this site are most similar to the Altavista soil series (see attached boring log).
One boring was advanced to a depth of 8.0 feet Seasonal High Water Table (SHMM as
determined by evidence of colors of chroma 2 or lesswas encountered at a depth of 2.0
feet (24 inches) below the eroumd surface The observed water level in the boring (on the
day of testing) was 74 inches below the ground surface. The attached map shows the
approximate location of the sample point.
I trust this is the information you require at this time.
Sincere] .
