Dear Mr. Tankard:

I am in receipt of your letter of July 1, 2014 for our application of March 4, 2014 requesting a
401 Water Quality Certification from the Division for the subject project. Please note that since
the NC Department of Health and Human Services, via the Hyde County Health Services
Department, has had our permit for a conventional sewage treatment system revoked, we
withdraw our request. This happened even as the Corps of Engineers granted us a fill permit
for the location on April 23, 2014. As such we have decided to withdraw our March 6, 2014
application to your Department. We understand that we will need to restart the process should
we decide to re-apply at some future date.
