Per the request of Katie Merritt on 5/14/14 — included is a packet for a potential mitigation bank project
that Restoration Systems is currently investigating. The Hollowell site is located approximately six miles
southwest of Goldsboro in Wayne County, NC off of Stevens Mill Rd. Included in this package is:
1. DWR Stream Call Form,
2. USGS topo quad (Grantham Quad) showing the approximate property boundaries,
3. The most recent Wayne County property aerial with the approximate project boundaries, and
4. A Mitigation concept map.
A site visit by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has been confirmed for June 3"' at 9:00 to review the
potential project. Attending the meeting from the Corps will be Todd Tugwell and William Prescott. Our
request is also for a nutrient/buffer Mitigation bank. As such, we request that Eric Kulz and a
representative(s) from the DWR Washington Regional office be present during the field review. If you

5e. Provide a brief description of this project (attach site plan if available): The Hollowell Site contains two unnamed
tributaries that flow directly into the Neuse River, as well as a large floodplain and wetland areas adjacent to the Neuse
River itself. The property is used for agricultural and timber production. The conceptual mitigation plan includes stream
restoration and enhancement, riparian wetland restoration and enhancement, riparian buffer restoration and nutrient buffer
restoration. This request is for a nutrient/buffer Mitigation Bank. We request that Eric Kulz be present in addition to the
Regional Staff.
Please attach a map of the site indicating project boundaries on the USGS 1:24,000 Topo and /or NRCS Soil Survey.
If you are unable to locate either of these maps, please contact the Regional Office for assistance.
