Subject: Compliance Evaluation Inspection
Aqua - Hasentree WWTF and
Reclaimed Water Generation and
Non -conjunctive reclaimed water utilization
Nondischarge Permit WQ0021934

Dear Ms. Parrish:
On June 8 and 24, 2022, Dorothy Robson from the Raleigh Regional Office visited your facility to evaluate
compliance with the Nondischarge Permit WQ0021934. Division records indicate the facility operates a
reclaim facility, non -conjunctive utilization, and distribution of reclaimed water. During the inspection, the
following was observed:
Schedule (Section I of permit):
1. The flow rate and gallons per day has not exceeded the approved flow rate.
2. Appropriate education was observed and appeared to be sufficient to inform users and employees of the
reclaimed water irrigation.
Performance (Section II):
3. The facility maintains and operates the reclaimed water facilities as described in the permit.
4. All reclaimed water components are labeled or colored purple as described in the permit as well as
signage located throughout the reclaimed water distribution area.
5. Irrigation application rates are applied to the fields as permitted.
6. No drinking water wells are located on or within the compliance boundaries.
Operation and Maintenance (O&M) (Section III):
7. The permittee operates and maintains the reclaim water system and the distribution system as a non -
discharge system. An O&M Plan, Spill control prevention plan (SPCP), and safety measures are readily
available and observed.
8. Vegetative cover on the irrigation areas were well maintained and no ponding or runoff was observed.
9. Public access is restricted at the wastewater treatment and storage ponds.
10. Continuous monitoring and recording are utilized for turbidity.
11. Flow meters are maintained and calibrated yearly.
12. Standby power is maintained as described in the permit.
13. Freeboard in both the storage pond and upset ponds were below two feet.
14. The facility has established an education program to inform golfers and other guests of the reclaimed
water irrigation system.

Monitoring and Reporting (Section IV):
15. Reclaimed water is sampled and monitored for compliance in accordance with the permit.
16. Record tracking documents were well maintained and readily available for review.
17. Irrigation rates and flow is documented daily.
18. Reclaimed water effluent is monitored and sampled in accordance with Attachment A of the permit.
19. Reclaimed water utilization is tracked in accordance with Attachment B of the permit.
20. Maintenance Togs were observed to be complete.
21. Monitoring wells are sampled at the frequency in accordance with the permit.
Inspections (Section V):
22. The facility performs maintenance and inspects the facility daily and maintains written and digital logs.
General Conditions
23. The permittee is in compliance with the permit conditions.
This report is a notification of the results of the compliance inspection. No violations were observed at the
