The footprint of the retaining wall proposed in this application requires a minor variance from the Tar - Pamlico Riparian Buffer Rules. The application for the variance is included with this letter for your use. It appears that the impact is 10 inches wide by 54 feet long (50 -foot wall with two -foot wings on each end) for a total impact of 45 square feet. This impact requires 68 square feet of mitigation.
