Re: City of Dunn Residuals land application program: Permit # WQ0006101 (Pope fields)
Enclosed with this memo is the information from our site visit to the Andy: Pope fields, located in
Sampson County, that will be submitted to DWQ for addition to the City of Dunn land application
program.
1. Ortho-photos from the Sampson -County GIS system illustrating each proposed field with a Field
Identification number that is used by DWQ for illustration purposes only and isn't. intended to alter
the convention utilized by Synagro for field identification.
2. Field use description based upon the site investigation at each field. It should be noted that since
these proposed fields will be submitted to DWQ after the promulgation of the new 2T rules; fields
that were identified as seasonal, may now be, considered for year round use under the new
requirements of 2T. Field evaluation by a licensed soil scientist will be necessary to determine the
nature of application for the proposed fields. At the time of our visit, 20.February 2007, the following
designations were applied to the Pope fields:
Field 1A & 1 B — Year round (YR), with buffering of the drainage way between fields;
Field 2A — seasonal under 2H due to SHWT less than 3'. New 2T applies and may allow YR;
Field 2B — year round, with buffering of Rains soils. This may not be necessary under 2T rules;
Field 2C — year round;
Field 3A & 3B — year round, with buffering to surface water feature that divides the fields;
Field 4 — year round;
Field ? — Not sure if this field is or will be part of Field 4;
Field 5 — seasonal under 2H due to SHWT less than 3'. New 2T applies and may allow YR;
Field 6 — year round;
Field 7 — seasonal under 2H due to SHWT less than 3' (small bay? Area); 2T may allow YR;
Field 8A — year round with buffering of drainage way near back of field as indicated on ortho-photo;
Field 8B — year round;
Field 9 year round.
