If not, toss it back at me and I'll get to it next week. Subject: Richard Johnston 401 Certification From: "Andy Miller" <AMiller@co.davidson.nc.us> Date: Wed, 21 Jun 2006 13:54:13 -0400 To: <cyndi.karoly@ncmail.net> Ms. Karoly, On June 19, 2006 Mr. Richard Johnston, and the Davidson Soil and Water Conservation District received your response to the Pre-Construction Notification Application that was submitted on June 7, 2006 for a streambank stabilization project (DWQ ## 06-0951, Davidson County). Both Mr. Ian McMillan and you were unavailable when I called for clarification. I spoke with Lori Dennison of your office and she indicated that the page marked 8 of 12 shows a stream impact of 200 linear feet. In the block provided for "Total Stream Impact" I have indicated the correct stream length that will be impacted. The "Total Stream Impact" will be 90 linear feet. While it is true that if you simply add each of the entries for impacts this calculation will result in 200 linear feet, this is not a correct conclusion. The total length of stream that will be impacted is 90 linear feet. The project will require grading on 90 linear feet of the stream (Impact 1). Within that 90 linear feet, 15 linear feet of corrugated steel pipe will be placed (Impact 2), this pipe will be covered for 10 linear feet with fill (soil) (Impact 3), and stone rip-rap will be placed on the remaining 80 linear feet of the graded area (Impact 4). This results in a total of 90 linear feet. All of this is detailed on the design sheets that were provided with the application packet. I will be glad to change the paperwork to make this situation clear. Please contact me at 336-242-2075 as soon as possible so that we may proceed with this project.
