HomeMy WebLinkAbout20210453 Ver 1_3_DMS_Accept_R-5768 Revised_20220627June 14, 2022 Ms. Amy Euliss Division 9 PDEA Engineer North Carolina Department of Transportation 375 Silas Creek Parkway Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27127-7167 Dear Ms. Euliss: Subject: Mitigation Acceptance Letter: R-5768, US 311 (South Main Street) Improvements at NC 65 and SR 1928 (Stokesburg Road) and NC 65 at Norfolk Southern Rail Crossing, Stokes County, WBS Number 44670.1.1 The purpose of this letter is to notify you that the Division of Mitigation Services (DMS) will provide the compensatory stream and wetland mitigation for the subject project. Based on the information supplied by you on June 14, 2022, the impacts are located in CU 03010103 of the Roanoke River basin in the Central Piedmont (CP) Eco-Region, and are as follows: Stream and Wetlands River Basin CU Location Eco- Region Stream Wetlands Cold Cool Warm Riparian Non- Riparian Coastal Marsh Impacts Roanoke 03010103 CP 0 0 14.000 0 0 0 *Some of the stream and/or wetland impacts may be proposed to be mitigated at a 1:1 mitigation ratio. See permit application for details. This mitigation acceptance letter replaces the mitigation acceptance letter issued on February 3, 2022. The impacts and associated mitigation needs were under projected by the NCDOT in the 2022 impact data. NCDEQ-DMS will commit to implement sufficient compensatory mitigation credits to offset the impacts associated with this project as determined by the regulatory agencies using the delivery timeline listed in Section F.3.c.iii of the In-Lieu Fee Instrument dated July 28, 2010. If the above referenced impact amounts are revised, then this mitigation acceptance letter will no longer be valid and a new mitigation acceptance letter will be required from NCDEQ-DMS.
