Lafayette Landing Apartments and Villas Dear Mr. Thompson: In accordance with the State of North Carolina's Rule 15A NCAC 02B.0250- Randleman Lake Water Suply Watershed, Protection and Maintenance of Riparian Areas, any applicant that intends to disturb Zone 1 and Zone 2 of the stream buffer must show that there is "No Practical Alternative" than to impact the stream buffer. The applicant submitted a "No Practical Alternative Request" on June 20, 2014 stating that the stream buffer disturbances in Zone 1 and Zone 2 were necessary for the construction of stream crossings to access the site, for a sanitary sewer crossing and for the biocell outlets for the 7 stormwater controls and energy dissipaters for the site. The City of Greensboro determined that the permanent impact of 22,544 square feet in Zone 1 and 13,980 square feet in Zone 2 of the Randleman Watersupply Watershed stream buffer were necessary for the installation of two new access roads (Light Horse Lane, General Authors Lane), the upgrade of Ruffin Road, a sanitary sewer connection for the site, energy dissipators and the permanently lined channels from the exit pipes at the biocell to the receiving stream. In addition, the applicant should secure any other required federal, state, and local certifications before the project proceeds. Approved impacts included the following temporary and permanent disturbances: Road Crossings Light Horse Lane (113 LF) General Authors Lane (124 LF) Ruffin Road (122 LF) Sewer Crossing (140 LF) Biocells and Energy Disipators Zone 1 = 5513 SF Zone 1 = 5380 SF Zone I= 7820 SF Zone 1 = 1341 SF Zone 2 = 3723 SF Zone 2 = 2682 SF Zone 2 = 3740 SF Zone 2 = 2175 SF Biocell 1: Zone 1 Temp. 450 SF Perm. 240 SF Zone 2 Temp. 300 SF Perm. 160 SF Biocell 2: Zone 1 Temp. 450 SF Perm. 270 SF Zone 2 Temp. 300 SF Perm. 180 SF Biocell 3: Zone 1 Temp. 450 SF Perm. 270 SF Zone 2 Temp. 300 SF Perm. 180 SF Biocell 4: Zone 1 Temp. 450 SF Perm. 270 SF Zone 2 Temp. 300 SF Perm. 180 SF Biocell 5: Zone 1 Temp. 450 SF Perm. 270 SF Zone 2 Temp. 300 SF Perm. 180 SF Biocell 6: Zone 1 Temp. 450 SF Perm. 300 SF Zone 2 Temp. 300 SF Perm. 200 SF Biocell 7: Zone 1 Temp. 450 SF Perm. 210 SF Zone 2 Temp. 300 SF Perm. 140 SF P.O.
