Dear Mr. Buchanan:
Shield Engineering, Inc. (Shield) successfully collected stormwater samples for Stormwater Discharge
Outfalls SDO #001 and SDO #002 at the Cleveland facility in the month of March 2022. During the March
161h sampling event, Shield's field measurement of pH was 7.8 at SDO #001 and 7.9 at SDO #002 . The
analytical results of the stormwater sample collected during the qualifying storm event are attached to
this cover letter. In addition, the Qualitative Monitoring Report (QMR) forms and the partially completed
Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) forms are attached to this cover letter. The Qualitative Monitoring
Report for SDO #002 notes that debris was observed at this outfall, and Stormwater is flowing around the
rip -rap ditch. The QMRs should be kept onsite. Analytical results from the sampling event show an
exceedance of Zinc and Copper at SDO #002.
Daimler's Cleveland facility has exited Tier Three at SDO #001 for Copper and is monitored on a quarterly
basis. The facility remains in Tier Three of the NPDES General Permit No. NCG030000 at SDO #002 for
Copper and Zinc. Shield greatly appreciates the opportunity to provide environmental services to Daimler
Trucks of North America. If you have any questions in reference to this document or require further
information, please feel free to contact undersigned at (704) 394-6913.
