Dear Mr. Goodrich:
Thank you for your letter dated November 4, 2016 regarding the permit renewal application for
the Closed -Loop Recycle System for Powell Industries Suncrest Chip Mill which was received in your
office on December 22, 2015. Your letter asks for additional information before DWR can complete its
review of the application. This letter is in response to that request.
Powell Industries has considered carefully the various Scenarios set forth on page 2 of your letter.
Powell Industries has chosen Scenario B: The Closed -Loop Recycle System Permit would be
rescinded and the NPDES Stormwater Permit would remain active. Powell Industries understands
that it will have to demonstrate compliance with the terms and conditions of general stormwater permit
NCG2100000. The company also understands that the Division of Water Resources will require
sampling and analysis (with satisfactory results or removal of residuals) as a condition of rescinding the
Closed Loop Recycle System Permit.
