The 4C minutes indicate that the pond wetlands would be a total take, and that appears to be the case in the permit drawings. Also, the cross- sectional drawings submitted with the permit show 4:1 slopes at that station. Based on this, 4:1 side slopes were approved at site 84+00. (If this information is incorrect, please advise). Yes this is correct. Station 152+00 looks like Site 10. There are no cross sections provided for Station 152+00 in the application that I see. That is correct we are only required to show one cross section sheet per wetland site, the cross section sheet for site 10 shows station 149+50 to 151+00 since this is the majority of the impacted cross sections. Neither the 4B or 4C minutes mention that slopes will be 4:1. Is 4:1 different then what was proposed in the application, even though this slope was not directly stated? If so, have impacts increased as a result of this change? The impacts would not change if the side slopes were 3:1 as opposed to 4:1 given the location of the proposed ditch and the fact the wetland is a total take due to its location with regard to the roadway fill. 1 `y T N I N lrG,'-Jl I i11G G IIllli, „1111 Raleigh Group Manager From: Price, Gregory W [mai Ito:gwpriceCa)ncdot.gov] Sent: Wednesday, June 11, 2014 9:17 AM To: Zerman, William S; Dan Duffield Subject: FW: R-0623 401 Draft Conditions Could you advise for Station 152 comment below regarding 4:1 slopes. Our comments are asfollows: Condition 31page 6, states that all fill slopes in jurisdictional wetland shall be placed at slopes no flatter than 3:1 unless otherwise approved, VVe are proposing 4:1 fill slopes in wetland area along L- line near Station 84+OO+/- Rt. & 152+OO 3 Lt . Steeping the fill slopes to 3:1 will not avoid the wetlands due to the proposed lateral base ditches (see attached files).
