Does not meet purpose and need due to limited reserves. 2 Bender Pit, North Pit and Bryan Pit 8.96 acre of wetland, 899 LF of Stream Preferred Alternative. Provides enough reserves to meet short, medium and longer term needs. Meets Purpose and need. Least Environmentally Damaging Practicable Alternative (LEDPA). 3 Bryan Pit None; could be considered part of the no action alternative because a 404 permit is not required Does not provide the market with enough reserves to meet demand. Does not meet purpose and need due to limited reserves. Only serves market for short term. 4 Western Pit None No current Lease on property. Lower quality limestone. Small amount of reserves within area previous under lease would not meet market demand. Does not meet purpose and need due to limited lower quality reserves. Also, not practicable due to lack to lack to lease. 5 Expanding Pit to South Approximately 60 acre of wetland impacts Would provide needed reserves, but would have significantly more wetland impacts. Does meet purpose and need, but is not the LEDPA due to Wetland Impacts. Overburden Road Alternatives Overburden Road Preferred Alternative Single two lane Overburden road 0.90 acre wetland impact, 106LF Stream Impact Allows trucks to pass safely on the overburden road. Most preferred and Economical Option Does meet purpose and need. Is the LEDPA.
