Conditions: (10/23/95)
a. Additional rights of way needed for the extension of Strickland and Ebenezer
Church Road shall be reimbursed at R -4 values. The Strickland Road extension
shall not exceed a maximum width of one hundred ten (110) feet and the Ebenezer
Church Road Extension shall not exceed a maximum width of eighty (80) feet.

CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE FOR STREAM DI -VERSION
1. Set up Erosion Control Measures for Stream Diversion in Accordance with this
Sequence.
2. All Culvert Excavation work shall be performed Only in Dry or Isolated Areas of the
Work Zone. The sequence that follows requires construction of ;a, temporary stream
diversion channel to bypass clean stormwater runoff from the upstream drainage basin
around the work zone. Bypass pumping of the work zone is also required.
3. In General, the long range climatological conditions and local short-range weather
forecast should be considered when planning the construction period for installation of
the RCBC Culverts and temporary stream diversion. These activities should be planned
to occur during a seasonally log\ period of precipitation and when forecast weather
anticipates dry conditions.
4. Temporary Stream diversion construction must be completed prior to proceeding with
the culvert installation. Temporary stream diversion must have properly installed
channel and bank stabilization as specified per plan. An inspectic'n by the Authority
having Jurisdiction and review by the Engineer shall be made prior to proceeding with
the culvert installation.
5. Excavate diversion channel from downstream to upstream and insta >I high - velocity soil
reinforcement channel lining specified per plan.
6. Install Temporary Shoring / sheet piling downstream of the existing 50 -inch RCP outlet
to isolate the culvert work zone per plan. Refer to NCDOT Standard Shoring
specification (Rev. 11- 19 -13) and Temporary Shoring Special Provisions (Rev. 5- 21 -13)
for additional requirements. A copy of these provisions is availa,ale at the NCDOT

7. Set up a temporary bypass pump and temporary piping to dewater pooled water that may
develop in the Excavation Zone. Pump(s) and Temporary Piping shall be sufficient
capacity to dewater the work zone. The capacity and volume to pump should be
determined at time of construction based upon the observed ponding downstream of the
sheet piling. It may be necessary to have one pump at the upstreamn end of the culvert
excavation zone and one at the downstream end. It will be unacceptable to construct the
cast -in -place reinforced box culverts in wet conditions. Therefore, .the Pump(s) should
be designed to cycle with set points sufficient to keep the work zone dry. Pump(s)
system shall be equipped with a 24 -Hour Monitoring system to maintain a dry work
zone during hours outside the regular work -day (i.e, nights and weekends) until
construction is complete.
8. Discharge from the dewatering of the work zone must be pumped through a Treatment
Device (Special Stilling Basin). Utilize a Special Stilling Basin Baig having minimum
dimensions of at Least 15 Feet by 10 Feet, manufactured of non -woven fabric material
and Sewn in Sleeve for Receiving Pump Discharge. See NCDOT Standard Detail
1630.06. Discharge of Treated Water shall be upstream of temporary diversion and
must pass through the still basin bag.
9. Contact Culvert Design Engineer and hold a pre - construction meeting with the Design
Team prior to proceeding with installation of the RCBC culverts.
10. Install Permanent Erosion Control Measures including Seeding and Bank Stabilization
with the installation of the RCBC culverts.
11. Do Not Disturb Protected stream channel and riparian buffers beyord Limits of L.O.D.
