If yes, please describe your concern: I live in an older area of town around the high school and know that some of the streets such as Cedar only have one storm water drain for the whole street which is inefficient and it like many others around the area drain into backyards or poorly kept low lands where the water has no where else to go which causes the drain to backup and flood the street as well as other areas. 10. Do you have any further stormwater concerns or suggestions? If it is possible to add more drains to streets in older areas that have too few drains or older pipes that need to be replaced where the water is conducted off of the street. Also, where possible to create cisterns to help collect and control run off in areas where there is no adequate area for channeling the water or where it feeds into lower areas on people property; naturally working with the home/land owner to gain easements and right of ways. The biggest would be to correct streets where there is only one or a few drains for long stretches' of the street that cause flooding due to lack of thereof. Some comes from higher up the road and some comes from the community residents. Village on Park off of Route 801 is an example to survey. Most debris comes from West Steward Ave. but some comes from our own residents. 10. Do you have any further stormwater concerns or suggestions? ALL Town residents should be aware and understand the issues with all debris being placed down the drains. Perhaps when residents place debris near the drains they should be fined as it is this that causes most the issues along with trash from inconsiderate people. People in the Town need to buck up and become responsible for their actions or hit them in the pocket book. Trash on roads causing problems should be picked up by jail birds as in the past (chain gangs used to work). Why should prisoners get 3 hots, a cot , internet, gym, library and many more privelges without working for it? Times need to change in the USA ! ! ! ! I am gravely concerned about the town having imposed a stormwater fee on us, the residents of the town, several years ago but NEVER explaining where the money would go line item by litem or where the money was spent item by line item, as least not in the town newsletter. Most of us work 10-12 hours day to make ends meet in our increasingly expensive society and can't attend town board meetings where this information might be available, but I highly doubt it was. This is inexcusable. Just another form of taxation so the elected officials can boast, "We didn't raise taxes!" This is the ONLY issue, the lack of transparency, that has ever bugged me about living here over 30 years. Optional Demographic Questions What Watershed do you live in? If yes, do you know who is responsible for maintenance? No 9b. If yes, please describe your concern: The town give permits to people to build and allows their water to drain across my property hundreds of thousands of gallons in a single storm, the is water from roofs driveways, at a high rate of speed, and it erodes my land and neighbors land causing trees to fall, lost land, the town should be responsible to repair these damages. they let this water run across my land instead of being absorbed. We tried to mitigate tis with rip -rap but it just gets undermined. 10. Do you have any further stormwater concerns or suggestions? There is tremendous building going on. Builders need to be charged a water fee for each home for sewers to be run into the area. Or to come up with solutions like cisterns to capture roof water then used to water lawns. This runoff is all going into a lake with a small dam to release the overflow. This dam weeps I do not know if this is normal, but if all these roofs, and drives can't absorb the water it is going to fill the lake higher. A summer hurricane hits with 18 inches of rain and a nuclear power plant at the base, is it in a similar situation as Japan? Optional Demographic Questions What Watershed do you live in?
