Please find the enclosed September Stormwater Discharge Outfall (SDO) #001 and #002 forms
for the Daimler Trucks NA, LLC - Mount Holly Truck Manufacturing Plant (TMP). The September
8th stormwater samples were collected at both locations during this monthly event. Analytical
results from the sampling event show an exceedance of Copper and Zinc at SDO #001 and an
exceedance of Zinc at SDO #002. The Facility also had an exceedance for the new permit COD
benchmark at SDO #001.
Daimler remains in Tier 3 at SDO #001 and SDO #002 for Zinc and at SDO #002 for Copper.
The Facility enters Tier 1 for COD and exits Tier 3 at SDO #001 and SDO #002 for TSS and at
SDO #001 for Copper.
Shield will continue to perform monthly sampling per Tier level requirements until instructed to
decrease sampling frequency by Daimler.

Dear Mr. Quarry:
Shield Engineering, Inc. (Shield) successfully collected monthly stormwater samples for Stormwater
Discharge Outfalls (SDO) #001 and #002 at the Mount Holly facility for the month of September 2021.
During the September 81 sampling event, Shield's field measurements of pH were 7.00 and 7.04 at SDO
#001 and SDO #002, respectively. The analytical results of the stormwater samples collected during the
qualifying storm event are attached to this cover letter. In addition, the Qualitative Monitoring Report
(QMR) forms and the partially completed Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) form are attached to this
cover letter. The Qualitative Monitoring Reports note the presence of a faint oil smell at SDO #001 and
SDO #002. In addition, both SDOs are overgrown with plants and clearing of the areas is recommended.
Analytical results from the sampling event show an exceedance of Copper and Zinc at SDO #001 and an
exceedance of Zinc at SDO #002.
Daimler remains in Tier 3 at SDO #001 and SDO #002 for Zinc and at SDO # 002 for Copper. The Facility
enters Tier l for C.O.D. and exits Tier 3 at SDO #001 and SDO #002 for TSS and at SDO #001 for Copper.
