This inspection was conducted to determine if the system is being operated and maintained in compliance with General NPDES Permit No. NCG550000. Clay Cuthbertson (owner) was present during the inspection. The system appears to be well maintained. This is a Christmas shop that stays open 8 or 9 months a year. The septic tank is located to the back right corner of the shed to the right of the Christmas shop. The tank was last pumped on 5/4/2020. The sand filter parallels the bank at the back of the property, and the discharge pipe can be seen at the bottom of the bank, about three-quarters of the length down. Mr. Cuthbertson stated that the pipe does not discharge, and it was verified to not be discharging during the inspection. Should the system ever begin to discharge, sampling will be required per the permit. NCG550420 17 (Cont.)
