for the TIP 8-2583 project in Hertford County (US 158 from the Murfreesboro Bypass to US 13 near
Winton)
Dear Sirs,
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is requesting the modification of CAMA
Permit No. 63-12 and 401 WQC No. 3875 for the 'I'll? R-2583 project in Hertford County. During
construction, it has been determined the headwall unit for the culvert replacement at Site I on the permit
drawings will permanently impact approximately 48 sq. ft. of 404 wetlands, approximately 16 sq. ft. of
surface water, and 4 linear feet in the jurisdictional stream. The 404 wetlands were previously permitted
for mechanized clearing, and this request would permanently fill that area with the headwall and the
backfill behind the wingwalls.
Included with this letter are drawings of the area impacted and a photo of the headwall Unit. If you
