Initial Process:

The business owner meets with a Stormwater investigator to
discuss the Ordinance and the surface washing or vehicle washing
requirements.
The Stormwater investigator gives copies of the City guidance
documents for surface washing or mobile vehicle washing to the
business owner.
If the business owner understands the requirements and acquires
the proper equipment, they make an appointment with a
Stormwater investigator for a compliance demonstration.
Note: A compliance demonstration is required for a mobile vehicle
washing business. It is recommended for a surface washing business,
but not required.

Compliance Demonstration Program
Field Inspection:
During the compliance demonstration, the investigator fills out
the required form and takes photos to document the
demonstration.
G If any of the three requirements on the form (containment,
collection, and disposal) are not acceptable to the Investigator
(pump or wet vac are not functioning, tarp is undersized, tarp
has holes, inadequate berm, etc.), then the form is not signed
and the business owner must fix or purchase the proper
equipment and schedule another compliance demonstration.
If the demonstration is successful, the investigator and the
business owner sign and date the compliance demo form.

Compliance Demonstration Program
Office Procedure:
The investigator may fill out and sign two copies in the
field, or send a signed copy of the form by email or
regular mail.
