Shoreline Stabilization, 169 Rehobeth Lane, Mooresville, Lake Norman
Dear Chris Smith:
On May 5, 2014, the Division of Water Resources (Division) received your application, dated April
23, 2014, requesting a 401 Water Quality Certification and Buffer Authorization from the Division
for your project. The Division has determined that your application is incomplete and cannot be
processed. The application is on -hold until the following items are addressed:
1. The photograph provided shows a gentle slope and does not show an eroded bank. Please
provide documentation that the slope needs stabilization.
2. Please confirm the height of the bank. If the height is 2 feet or less, then according to Duke
Lake Management, only bioengineering or enhanced riprap can be used. See their website
or Iltip \v\\ Aiikc c'iicl ­ II�> 'dwl(:Lttr: 110) nldc, odI' for more information.
Please send information confirming the bank height.
3. Please provide a diagram of the area to be stabilized with an overhead and a side view
drawing with the dimensions of the shoreline and proposed stabilization.
Pursuant to Title 15A NCAC 02H .0502(e), the applicant shall furnish all of the above requested
information for the proper consideration of the application. If the requested information is not
received in writing within 30 calendar days of your receipt of this letter, the Division will be unable
to approve the application and it will be returned. The return of this project will necessitate
reapplication to the Division for approval, including a complete application package and the
appropriate fee.
