The expansion of the West Brunswick Water Reclamation Facility is necessary to provide
wastewater treatment and disposal for the Town of Oak Island. The development pattern for the
Town is well established, and the facility expansion will not be growth inducing. Nonetheless,
the Town of Oak Island commits to requiring on-site stormwater management measures (such as
level spreaders, bioretention, riparian buffers or constructed wetlands) for any additional
development that takes place.
