Catawba County Schools received the Notice of Violation on May 10th, 2022.
There were four violations noted within the compliance evaluation inspection. They
were:
- One side of the sand filter section could not dose properly;
-The holes on the lateral distribution sections for one the sand filter sections were
clogged;
- One of the circulation pumps appeared to be partially clogged and not operating
properly;
-The high level in recirculation tank completely submerged the flow meter
Below are Catawba County Schools responses to the violations:
-We believe this is a combination of the lateral distributions sections being
clogged and one of our pumps not working properly
- The holes have been cleaned out on the lateral distribution section that were
clogged
-We have contacted a third party to come pull the pump and to have it possibly
replaced if it's not clogged
-The flow meter should not be submerged once the pump is working properly

We take all violations serious and these errors are in the process of being
corrected. We apologize for these mistakes and we will continue to monitor our waste
water treatment plants in accordance with all government regulations.
