Dear Ms. Lewis:
Enclosed please find one copy of project plans associated with the proposed erosion control
repairs along TLZ Crane and TLZ Gull, Temporary Landing Zones 166ated on Marine Corps
Base, Camp Lejeune. The project includes the grading of the dirt landing zone areas to repair
grading irregularities, such as ravines and washouts. All disturbed areas will be revegetated.
Therefore, no new impermeable surface will be created by the project. No point source
discharges will be created by the proposed work. The proposed project will create a usable
temporary landing zone where none presently exists.
It is our thought, that the proposed activity would not be subject to stormwater requirements
specified in 15A NCAC 2H.1000. We are requesting an exemption to the Coastal Stormwater
regulations for this project. Please review this project and issue a stormwater permit exemption
if you deem it appropriate.
