RE: R-2514 B&C: Request for use of the Croatan Wetland Mitigation Bank for Mitigation
Mr. Underwood,
Reference your correspondence of May 9, 2014 requesting the use of the Croatan Wetland
Mitigation Bank(CWMB) for unavoidable impacts associated with TIP No. R-2514 B and C;
improvements to US 17 in Jones and Onslow counties.
Review of the proposal and justification to use the CWMB as the source for all stream, riparian
wetland and non-riparian wetland mitigation credits to offset the unavoidable impacts associated
with R-2514 B&C is found to be acceptable to the US Army Corps of Engineers (Corps).
Please note that proposed use of the CWMB to provide mitigation credits for other projects will
be reviewed in a project specific, case by case context.
