Dear NPDES Permit Contact:
The General Permit this facility is covered under expires this year. The Stormwater Program posted the draft
General Permit for public comment on May 13t". The new General Permit is scheduled to become effective on July
1, 2022.
We mailed out letters to Permit Owners (Legally Responsible Individual associated with this permit,
Jeffrey Smithberger) earlier this month, but we also want to convey this information to Permit Contacts by email.
Please check our Laserfiche Document Repository to find a copy of that letter dated May 16, 2022.
Fees Owed: If the permittee owes Stormwater permit annual fees, there was an invoice on pink paper
included with that letter. Permittees should visit the Stormwater ePayment website (deg.nc.gov/SW-
ePayments) and pay permit fees as soon as possible.
Review and Update Contact Information: Please review the permit contact information in our database.
You can link to a Stormwater Permit Contact Summary Report under the "How to Update Permit Data"
section of this website: deg.nc.gov/SW-industrial. You can submit contact information changes
here: https://edocs.deg.nc.gov/Forms/SW-Permit-Contact-Updates
3. New General Permit: You may view the draft permit by entering https://deg.nc.gov/SW into your web
browser and selecting "Stormwater Public Notices" on the lower right side of the screen. The renewed
General Permit is expected to go into effect on July 1, 2022, and the permittee will be responsible for
complying with any new permit requirements on that date.
4. Register for eDMR: Soon your facility must use the electronic Data Monitoring Report (eDMR) system to
report monitoring data. Please find the instructions on how to register here: https://deg.nc.gov/SW-eDMR
Renewal COC: Permits with no outstanding fees on June 30" will be automatically renewed. You will be
able to obtain your new renewal COC from the NPDES Industrial Stormwater website (deg.nc.gov/SW-
industrial) by August 1, 2022 (please check for updates).
If you have questions, please contact Danny Smith at danny.smith@ncdenr.gov or Kieu Tran, Stormwater
Administrative Assistant, at kieu.tran@ncdenr.gov.
Sincerely,
The DEMLR Stormwater Program
