2. According to the DMR data reviewed for the period Septembe 1 1996 through August 1997,
the plant's effluent was in compliance with the NPDES permit's limits.
3. All logs, calibrations, and records were being maintained adequately.

5. The required outside analysis is performed by Burlington Laboratory for toxicity, Triangle
Laboratory for Dioxane, and the "in-house" laboratory for all other parameters.
6 On the day of inspection, a grab sample of the effluent revealed a settleable solids level of
a trace/ltr (Imhoff Cone).
7. The sludge is taken from the clarifier, polymer added and then dewatered in a sludge press.
The water removed is returned to the aeration basin. The resulting lake sludge is collected
in tractor -trailer gondolas, transported to a Red Springs site where it is agronomically
applied on a large permitted and dedicated site.
8. Some changes are currently underway at the facility. The discharge pipe is being replaced
because it is too old. A new skimmer arm is being installed on the secondary clarifier. Also,
an aerobic selector is being installed to reduce filamentous bacteria and improve settleability.
These changes have been approved and soon an "Authorization,to Construct" will be sought.
