Stockpiled Poultry Litter Violation
Gentlemen:
We acknowledge receipt of the Notice of Violation dated May 12th.
As of May 6, the litter pile in question has been removed. As to how this violation occurred,our
turkeys developed a disease and all six houses had to be destroyed. We complied with the
requirements as to method of destroying the turkeys and then the stockpiling of the litter.
Unfortunately,we did not document the procedures and could not furnish the proof required.
Should this occur again, we will do the proper documentation. Should the piling of litter be
necessary again, we will take steps to cover the litter pile which is not located near any wetlands,
perennial streams or other perennial waterbody.
