General Permit Renewal and Electronic Reporting Requirements
Certificate of Coverage: NCG140088
Alamance County
Dear NPDES Permittee:
The General Permit this facility is covered under expires this year. The Stormwater Program posted the
draft General Permit for public comment on May 13th. The new General Permit is scheduled to become
effective on July 1, 2022. Please read the important information below about what to do:
1. Fees Owed: If you owe stormwater permit annual fees, there is a pink slip of paper enclosed
in this envelope. It is crucial that you visit the Stormwater ePayment website
(deg.nc.gov/SW-ePayments) and pay your permit fees as soon as possible so the
Stormwater Program can renew your Certificate of Coverage (COC), and you can avoid
enforcement actions.
2. Review and Update Contact Information: Please review the permit contact information in
our database. You can link to a Stormwater Permit Contact Summary Report under the
"How to Update Permit Data" section of this website: deg.nc.gov/SW-industrial
3. New General Permit: You may view the draft permit by entering https://deg.nc.gov/SW
into your web browser and selecting "Stormwater Public Notices" on the lower right side of
the screen. The renewed General Permit is expected to go into effect on July 1, 2022, and
you will be responsible for complying with any new permit requirements on that date.
4. Register for eDMR: Soon your facility must use the electronic Data Monitoring Report
(eDMR) system to report monitoring data. Please find the instructions on how to register
here: https://deg.nc.gov/SW-eDMR
5. Renewal COC: Permits with no outstanding fees on June 30th will be automatically renewed.
You will be able to obtain your new renewal COC from the NPDES Industrial Stormwater
website (deg.nc.gov/SW-industrial) by August 1, 2022 (please check for updates).
