The DWR 401 approval contains the following condition: The Permittee shall comply with any moratoriums as required by the NC Division of Marine Fisheries, NC Wildlife Resources, US Fish and Wildlife and National Marine Fisheries. Exceptions to this condition require written approval by the resource agency responsible for the given moratorium. If such activities should take place during periods of high biological activity (e.g. shorebird, or sea turtle nesting), biological monitoring may be required at the request of other state and federal agencies and coordinated with these dredging activities. The DWR recommends that the contractor employ all necessary best management practices. Please feel free to call or email me if you have any questions. Good morning Cameron, Attached please find our completed In Water Work Moratorium Relief Request dated 5/19/22. Pending and upon approval, we will release McKim&Creed to prepare the pre -dredge survey and make final arrangements for Atlantic Coast to commence dredging ASAP. Please don't hesitate to contact me via e-mail or cell phone 910-617-5444 with any questions or concerns you may have. As we intend to use agitation dredging (dragging a beam) our required time is estimated. As you are aware efficiency is greatly reduced by this method (as compared to hydraulic dredging). We will most likely only be operating during one falling tide cycle per day. Any flexibility you may accordingly be able to provide in allotted time is greatly appreciated. It is in our own interest to expedite this process as a vessel arrival is anticipated in early June (as well as to minimize cost). Thank you for your consideration in this request. Good morning Cameron, Recent soundings of our berth revealed several areas of concern which need to be addressed to provide safe vessel berthing. Our next vessel is scheduled to arrive early June. At 750"+ LOA it represents the maximum size vessel we are contractually obligated to receive. Subsequent speaking with Greg Currey I understand you may be able to provide assistance with the next steps to required to process our request. Time is of the essence as we are endeavoring to dredge within the next two weeks. Please contact me with any questions. My cell phone is 910-617-5444.
