Hey Kyle,
The group working on the Fed -Ex site plan provided us with their wetland delineation points and Terracon verified and
tied in where they had stopped which is approximately where our Phase 2 permitting begins. We were trying to
minimize both wetland and buffer impacts by crossing the lower portion of the dam, but you have a good point to
consider on the dam integrity. I will discuss with Leo to see what he thinks too.

Jon,
It sounds like multiple projects are potentially intersecting on this one. I was working with
LMG for the City of Wilson and development on the Campus project. I will need to see the
delineation that was reviewed by the Corps for the phase that is being impacted under this
permit request. If that area was not reviewed then I'll need to conduct a site visit.
I do have some concern that the project indicates that there are buffer impacts but the PCN
doesn't indicate stream impacts nor describe how the line will be installed in association to the
stream that flows from the dam. Also the project area map indicates extensive conversion in
the area by T1 and W1a. A major part of that area encompasses the dam and how it slopes
into the wetland area. Wouldn't that significantly destabilize the integrity of the dam?
Please send me any previous correspondence you've had with other Corps agents on this site.

Hey Kyle,
Jeff asked me to help clarify the Sewer Extension at The Campus at 587. You may have come out with Land
Management when Fed -Ex was preparing their site plan last year which is the property adjacent to the pond on the
north west side of the project. Originally the sewer line to the north and west was higher up on the hill outside of the
wetlands and floodplain area. We already had a buffer crossing for the sewer extension near the pump station and
mitigation permitted a few years ago but not installed at that time. Since then, the alignment was revised and extended
to serve property on the other side (north west) of the pond and that's when we had Jeff come out to flag the wetlands.
The project was then spit into Phase 1 and Phase 2 for construction and permitting purposes. We were able to adjust
the alignment for Phasel to avoid wetland impacts and kept the same crossing at the buffer which was already
permitted so construction of the Phase 1 sewer line could proceed. Phase 2 for the sewer extension starts
approximately at that property line of Fed -Ex running over to the north west side of the pond. We were not able to
adjust the sewer line for phase 2 to avoid wetland impacts but wanted to permit that separately so we would not hold
up construction for Phase 1.
