I have reviewed the information and need clarification before proceeding with verifying the use of Nationwide Permit 13 http: / /www.saw.usace. army. mil / Portals /59/ docs / regulatory /regdocs /NWP2012 /NWP13 3- 23.pdf: 1) Regional Condition 3.5.1 of NWP 13 requires that filter cloth be placed underneath riprap as an additional requirement of its use in North Carolina waters. Please confirm that filter cloth will be placed under Armor Stone, or explain how the proposed project otherwise meets the NWP terms and conditions. 2) Regional Condition 3.9.1 of NWP 13 requires that the PCN /plans show sediment and erosion control measures. Specifically, what S and EC measures will be employed during project installation? Given that excavation will occur in order to place base stone below existing grade at the toe of slope for Area A, and other minor grading may occur in Area B, turbidity in the adjacent Waters is a concern. Please submit the above information (via e -mail is fine) within 30 days of receipt of this Notification, otherwise the proposed project may not fit the terms and conditions of the Nationwide Permit. If you have any questions please let me know. Sincerely, Dave Bailey David E.
