The Town of Waynesville WWTP was found to be in violation of SOC for the month of March,
2022. Upon review of our data, it was found that we were out of compliance for the monthly
total of TSS. We were also out of compliance 2xs for weekly BOD and a monthly BOD average.
This was due to a lot of rainfall this month. The rainfall data from the Town of Waynesville
Water Treatment plant indicates that we received 5 inches of rain for the month. The high
amount of rain with our current I&I problems caused heavy flows and poor settling in the
secondary clarifiers. We are making every effort to rectify this problem by trying to locate areas
of high I&I in the collections system. Should you have any questions or need further explanation
