Dear Sir:
The purpose of this letter is to request renewal of the existing Nationwide Permit 14 (NWP 14) for
Linear Transportation Projects and North Carolina Division of Water Resources(NCDWR) Section
401 Water Quality Certification(WQC).
The North Carolina Department of Transportation was issued a Clean Water Act Section 404 NWP
14 from the USACE on April 30,2021,for the above-referenced project. This project is scheduled
to Let in 2023 and is expected to be completed the same year. Therefore,NCDOT requests renewal
of the permit under the NWP 14 Linear Transportation Project.
NCDOT was also issued a Section 401 Water Quality Certification No.4135 from NCDWR on June
24,2021.Therefore,a renewal of the NCDWR Section 401 WQC will also be needed.

No changes have occurred to the design or special commitments for this project.
NCDOT requests to renew the permit for this project.Application is hereby made for renewal of the
USACE 404 permit and the 401 WQC from NCDWR. We have provided a method of debiting
$240.00 to be submitted to the NCDWR for processing the WQC renewal for the project,as noted
in the subject line of this application.
