Subject: DMR Submittal — No Flow
April 41", 2022
My name is Paul Hastings, I am the new Environmental, Health and Safety Manager at AP
Emissions in Goldsboro, NC (Wayne County). I have taken over for Daniel Hammond as of
February 111 of this year. Mr. Hammond medically retired, and I have assumed his duties and
responsibilities for storm water testing and reporting. However due to the nature of Mr.
Hammonds departure, I was not shown the stormwater portion of the EHS program till Mid -
March of this year. Since this time, we have not any significant rainfall to collect samples for the
1st quarter of 2022.
I had also inquired as to the other months in this reporting period, Mr. Hammond also told me
that we did not have enough rainfall for samples, and the few days it did rain enough it was
during nighttime periods where it would be unsafe to collect samples. We have been getting
some rain, but it is mainly drizzling and not building up enough for sampling at this time. I have
also requested and submitted forms for access to eDMR but was told this process is a little
backed up at present. So, I will submit the DMR per instructions on the State Website.
I understand that these samples are due monthly and will submit the next quarters results as
soon as we have a decent rainfall. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have
any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time.
r
Paul Hastings

All permits require qualitative monitoring to be performed during a "measurable storm event."
A "measurable storm event' is a storm event that results in an actual discharge from the permitted site
outfall, The previous measurable storm event must have been at least 72 hours prior. The 72-hour storm
interval does not apply if the permittee is able to document that a shorter interval is representative for
local storm events during the sampling period, and the permittee obtains approval from the Iocal DEMLR
Regional Office.
