EROSION CONTROL NOTES:
1. ON -SITE BURIAL PITS REQUIRE AN ON -SITE DEMOLITION LANDFILL PERMIT FROM THE
ZONING ADMINISTRATOR.
2. ANY GRADING BEYOND THE DENUDED LIMITS SHOWN ON THE PLAN IS A VIOLATION OF
THE EROSION CONTROL ORDINANCE AND IS SUBJECT TO A FINE.
3. DISTURBING MORE THAN 1 ACRE WITHOUT AN APPROVED EROSION CONTROL PLAN IS
A VIOLATION OF THE CITY/COUNTY EROSION CONTROL ORDINANCE AND IS SUBJECT
TO A FINE.
4. ALL GRADED SLOPES MUST BE SEEDED AND MULCHED AS SPECIFIED BELOW.

Note: After the permanent cessation of construction activities, any areas with temporary
ground stabilization shall be converted to permanent ground stabilization as soon as
practicable but in no case longer than 90 calendar days after the last land disturbing
activity. Temporary ground stabilization shall be maintained in a manner to render the
surface stable against accelerated erosion until permanent ground stabilization is achieved.
5. ADDITIONAL MEASURES TO CONTROL EROSION AND SEDIMENT MAY BE REQUIRED BY
A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CITY/COUNTY ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT.
6. SLOPES SHALL BE GRADED NO STEEPER THAN 2:1. SLOPES GREATER THAN 10, REQUIRE
ADEQUATE TERRACING. SOILS ENGINEER TO VERIFY STABILITY OF SLOPES GREATER
THAN 2:1.
7. STABILIZATION IS THE BEST FORM OF EROSION CONTROL. TEMPORARY SEEDING IS
NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE EROSION CONTROL ON LARGE DENUDED AREAS AND
ESPECIALLY WHEN REQUIRED SPECIFICALLY AS PART OF THE CONSTRUCTION
SEQUENCE SHOWN ON THE PLAN.
8. TEMPORARY DRIVE PERMIT FOR CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCES IN NCDOT RIGHT OF WAY
MUST BE PRESENTED AT PRE CONSTRUCTION MEETING.
9. SOIL COMPACTION TESTS ARE REQUIRED ON ANY BERM >= 5 FT IN HEIGHT FROM
NATURAL GRADE. SOIL COMPACTION MUST BE 95% PROCTOR AND CERTIFIED BY A
LICENSED SOIL ENGINEER.
10. OWNER AND CONTRACTOR ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL SOIL RELATED TO THEIR SITE.
SILT SACKS ARE TO BE PLACED IN ALL ADJACENT STORM DRAINS AND ANY SOIL, MUD,
OR DEBRIS THAT COMES OFF OF THIS SITE IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE
OWNER/GENERAL CONTRACTOR TO REMOVE AT THEIR SOLE EXPENSE.
11. THE CONTRACTOR MUST TAKE ALL STEPS NECESSARY TO LIMIT MUD AND
SEDIMENTATION ACCUMULATION ONTO ROADWAYS.

PHASE 1 CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE:
1. OBTAIN GRADING/EROSION CONTROL PLAN APPROVAL FROM
LINCOLN COUNTY.
2. SET UP AN ON -SITE PRE -CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE WITH
LINCOLN COUNTY AND ANY OTHER PERTINENT AGENCIES.
3. INSTALL CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE, SILT FENCE, AND ANY
OTHER MEASURES AS SHOWN ON PLANS, CLEARING ONLY AS
NECESSARY TO INSTALL THESE DEVICES.
4. CALL FOR ON -SITE INSPECTION BY INSPECTOR. WHEN
APPROVED, INSPECTOR ISSUES THE GRADING PERMIT AND
CLEARING AND GRUBBING MAY BEGIN.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DILIGENTLY AND CONTINUOUSLY
MAINTAIN ALL EROSION CONTROL DEVICES AND STRUCTURES.
6. FOR PHASED EROSION CONTROL PLANS, CONTRACTOR SHALL
MEET WITH EROSION CONTROL INSPECTOR PRIOR TO
COMMENCING WITH EACH PHASE OF EROSION CONTROL
MEASURES.
7. THE LAND DEVELOPMENT INSPECTOR SHOULD BE CALLED TO
CONDUCT INSPECTIONS ON STORM DRAINAGE, SIDEWALKS,
DRIVE WAY IMPROVEMENTS, AND ALL ASPECTS OF ROAD
CONSTRUCTION.
8. STABILIZE SITE AS AREAS ARE BROUGHT TO FINISHED GRADE.
9. COORDINATE WITH EROSION CONTROL INSPECTOR PRIOR TO
REMOVAL OF EROSION CONTROL MEASURES.
10. ALL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE N. C. EROSION AND SEDIMENT
CONTROL PLANNING AND DESIGN MANUAL, U. S. DEPT. OF
