Provide a detailed description of the proposed activity including its purpose and include the type of equipment to be used: *
Proposed construction to replace deck which was damaged by a fallen tree.
Construction will not require any grading or use of heavy equipment on the site. The
only soil that will be disturbed will be digging footings for each individual pier support.
The basement (ground) level construction will include conditioned and non -
conditioned living areas and a covered screen porch. On the first floor level above the
basement living areas (not screened porch) will be a Sunroom. The footprint of all
construction will be less than the footprint of the original damaged deck.

D. Impact Justification and Mitigation
1. Avoidance and Minimization
la. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing the project.
The proposed construction is designed to cover less area than the original deck
damaged by a fallen tree. The design is also structured to fit on the existing grade -
making it possible to complete the project with a minimum of soil disturbance.
1b. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques.
Since the existing grade is being utilized, no heavy equipment will be needed to
move or disturb soil. Another measure to minimize the site's impact is to build on
piers; therefore, the only soil that will be disturbed will be to dig footings for each
individual pier - instead of a continuous footing to support a foundation wall.

Additional Comments:
The proposed construction and project completion will have absolutely no impact on
the manner in which water drains on the lot and into the tributary creek. The new
construction will have less encroachment on the riparian buffer zone 2 than the
damaged deck did.
