HomeMy WebLinkAboutNCS000513_Description of Public Hearings_20220506When the Town's Unified Development Ordinance or Code of Ordinances requires changes or updates, a public hearing is required to review the changes and allow for public feedback. The following process outlines the protocol for public hearings: 1. Need for public hearing identified (change to ordinance, etc.) 2. Staff proposes at a council meeting that the Council hold a public hearing at the next meeting. Council votes to approve or deny holding a public hearing. A description of the project or changes are advertised. 3. If approved, the following month, a public hearing is held. A description of the project and changes are provided again, and the general public is invited to provide feedback. Council hears the feedback from the public. No council recommendations or votes are held at this time. 4. The month following the public hearing, council makes a determination for or against the proposed changes.
