John, Richard:
I appreciate your time during the Stormwater Pollution Prevention and Good Housekeeping inspection at Raleigh Union
Station. John – congrats on being a soon-to-be dad! We look forward to seeing you the next time and wish you and
your family the best!
Your facility is in good condition overall and records are being kept up to date in compliance with your SPPP
document. Below are our observations during this inspection:
We noticed some residual sediment and debris on your permeable pavement near the southern end of this
stormwater device that should be removed to avoid the accumulation of fine material between the pavers.
The areas around your waste bins show staining and collected grime and waste material from the waste
collection devices. Please make sure these receptacles are closed when not in use, the plug is secure at the
bottom, and - if the bin is compromised - that it is replaced by your vendor.
For your stormwater discharge outfall (SDO) monitoring: please use the proxy catchments indicated in the map
and picture below to inspect your SDOs. No need to open any manholes or enter private property to observe
your outfall, just observe the qualitative attributes with a flashlight.
