Catawba Lands Conservancy ("CLC") with assistance from Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) through the NC
Land and Water Fund ("NCLWF," formerly the NC Clean Water Management Trust Fund) are designing, and permitting the
Upper Forney Creek stream restoration project ("Project") on 8,500 linear feet of Forney Creek mainstem and 800 feet of it:
tributaries in Lincoln County, NC.
The Project Site is located in eastern Lincoln County in the Catawba River Watershed (USGS HUC
030501011303) and identified as Lincoln County Parcel IDs 34106 and 02328, and others. There are no FEMA floodplains
on the Project Site. The Project Site is bordered by Business NC-16 to the north, a CSX railroad to the east, and NC-16 to
the west. The Project Site is encumbered by a conservation easement or declaration of restrictive covenants held by the
NCLWF. These encumbrances prohibit most development on the Project Site but do allow CLC the right to conduct stream
restoration activities.
