Subject: Compliance Evaluation Inspection
Cleveland County WTP
NPDES Permit No. NCG590004
Cleveland County
Enclosed is a copy of the Compliance Evaluation Inspection for the inspection conducted
at the subject facility on April 21, 2022, by Ori Tuvia. Your cooperation during the site visit were
much appreciated. Please advise the staff involved with this NPDES Permit by forwarding a copy
of the enclosed report.
As was discussed during the inspection, the bigger lagoon that was converted from being
the freshwater intake lagoon has a bypass pipe. The lagoon must have a free board of at least 2
feet and having the bypass pipe will decrease the size of the lagoon. If you wish to keep the
bypass pipe you will also need to investigate the discharge location of the pipe. It is highly advised
that the facility investigate the lowest point of the lagoon and have clear marking that is 2 feet
below that point (either a gauge or a mark)
The report should be self-explanatory; however, should you have any questions, please
do not hesitate to contact Ori Tuvia at (704) 235-2190, or at ori.tuvia@ncdenr.gov.
