Pender County Public Utilities has identified the need for a sewer extension to serve the proposed
Pender Commerce Park (PCP) development in southern Pender County along US Highway 421
near Quality Way. This project will involve the installation of a 4" force main that will be stubbed
out at the southern edge of the Melina K. Knoerzer treatment facility property located at the
Pender Commerce Park. The force main will be routed from the property line through the W WTP
and discharge into the manhole directly upstream from the influent pump station. The stub out is
intended to serve the property directly south of the treatment plant.
The project will involve the design and permitting of:
✓ 1,010 LF of 4" PVC sewer force main
✓ 40 LF of 4" DIP sewer force main
Note that this is a zero flow permit. The wastewater flow associated with the development of the
property will be permitted separately by the design consultant for the proposed development. The
permit application is anticipated to include the pump station serving the proposed development
and the remaining force main length from the property line to the proposed pump station.
