The last quarter Overview for the WWTP. We were dealing with operational problems within the plant. Specifically issues with the sludge removal capabilities for the secondary clarifiers. The aluminum construction of the siphon system makes it very difficult to repair breakages. The outside western most secondary clarifier is out of square and causes excessive wear on the guidance wheels that keep the siphon pulling straight. We average replacing the wheels about once a month. ACMI did pull this unit out and attempted to reweld some broken pieces and square the unit up. This was mostly unsuccessful. Due to the construction of the Siphon. McGill and Assoc. had the sludge digester inspected for structural integrity. The digester was cored tested, with ACMI providing the core drilling. The lid of the anerobic digester was removed prior to this and work is on going to compete the switch over to an aerobic digester. In January the pilot study with the primary drum filters, conducted by Krugger began this study was conducted for about 2 months. They tested different microns of filter media, looking at both BOD5 removal and TSS removal. The test concluded that this would be a practical low foot print alternative for primary treatment.
