3.1.1. INSTALLATION OF PERIMETER EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES.
3.1.2. CLEARING AND GRUBBING OF EXISTING GROUND COVER.
3.1.3. COMPLETION OF ANY PHASE OF GRADING OF SLOPES OR FILLS.
3.1.4. INSTALLATION OF STORM DRAINAGE FACILITIES.
3.1.5. COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION OR DEVELOPMENT.
3.1.6. ESTABLISHMENT OF PERMANENT GROUND COVER SUFFICIENT TO RESTRAIN
EROSION.
4. CLEAR SITE ONLY AS NECESSARY TO INSTALL INITIAL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES
INCLUDING PERIMETER CONTROLS, BASINS, AND BASIN STOCKPILES.
5. INSTALL TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE
6. INSTALL PERIMETER SEDIMENT FENCE AND STONE OUTLETS AS SHOWN
7. INSTALL BASINS IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER:

11. AS EACH BASIN IS FINISHED, CONSTRUCT DIVERSION BERMS DIRECTING STORM -WATER
RUNOFF INTO THEIR RESPECTIVE BASINS AND INSTALL SLOPE DRAINS AS SHOWN TO
CONVEY CONCENTRATED RUNOFF DOWN -SLOPES INTO THE BASINS.
12. INSTALL CONCRETE WASH -OUT.
13. ENSURE THAT ALL TEMPORARY AND PERMANENT DIVERSION BERMS ARE INSTALLED
AND STABILIZED BEFORE SEEDING.
14. SEED EMBANKMENTS AND DISTURBED AREAS OF DEVICES UPON COMPLETION OF
CONSTRUCTION. SEE GROUND STABILIZATION CRITERIA AND SEEDING SPECIFICATIONS
CONTAINED IN THE PLAN DETAILS FOR MORE INFORMATION.
15. OBTAIN REQUIRED SITE INSPECTION
16. BEGIN CLEARING, GRUBBING, AND STRIPPING OF REMAINING UNCLEARED SITE AREAS
AS PROPOSED.
16.1.THE FOLLOWING SHOULD BE LOCATED A MINIMUM OF FIFTY (50) FEET FROM
STORM DRAIN INLETS AND SURFACE WATERS AND WITHIN AREAS PROTECTED BY
EROSION CONTROL MEASURES.
16.1.1. ANY EARTHEN -MATERIAL STOCKPILES ON -SITE FOR LATER DISTRIBUTION AND/OR
REMOVAL
16.1.2. AREAS DEDICATED FOR MANAGEMENT OF LAND CLEARING AND DEMOLITION DEBRIS
16.1.3. CONSTRUCTION AND DOMESTIC WASTE
16.1.4. HAZARDOUS OR TOXIC WASTE SHALL BE LOCATED AT LEAST 50 FEET AWAY FROM
STORM DRAIN INLETS AND SURFACE WATERS UNLESS IT CAN BE SHOWN THAT NO
OTHER ALTERNATIVES ARE REASONABLY AVAILABLE).
17. BEGIN SITE GRADING. MAINTAIN EROSION CONTROL DEVICES IN ACCORDANCE WITH
THE MAINTENANCE PLAN. INSTALL ADDITIONAL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES AS
REQUIRED.
18. INSTALL STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEM AND UTILITIES. STORM PIPING SHALL BE
INSTALLED TO THE POINT WHERE IT ENTERS EACH DEVICE. COMPLETION OF PIPING
WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED ONCE THE SITE HAS BEEN DEEMED STABLE BY THE EROSION
CONTROL INSPECTOR. INSTALL PROTECTION AROUND ALL INLETS AS STORM DRAIN
SYSTEM IS INSTALLED.
19. ONCE PERMANENT DIVERSIONS ARE IN PLACE, TEMPORARY DIVERSION BERMS CAN BE
REMOVED. SILT FENCE ALONG PERIMETER SHALL CONTINUED TO BE MAINTAINED.
20. CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN EROSION CONTROL MEASURES UNTIL VEGETATIVE COVER HAS
BEEN ESTABLISHED OVER ALL DISTURBED AREAS AND SITE HAS BEEN STABILIZED.
REMOVE EROSION CONTROL MEASURES ONLY AFTER FINAL INSPECTION AND APPROVAL
BY INSPECTOR, EXCEPT FOR THOSE PROTECTING AREAS DOWNSTREAM OF THE SEDIMENT
BASIN.
21. AFTER SITE STABILIZATION, OBTAIN FINAL EROSION CONTROL INSPECTION TO CLOSE THE
GRADING PERMIT.
22. FILE NOTICE OF TERMINATION WITH NCDEQ TO CLOSE THE NPDES NCGO1 PERMIT.
22.1. NOTE: IF ADDITIONAL PLANS HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED AND APPROVED SHOWING
ADDITIONAL WORK, PERMIT CLOSURE PROCESS WILL BE SUPERSEDED BY THE
CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE PROPOSED ON SUBSEQUENT APPROVED PLANS.

10. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN THE SITE IN AN ORDERLY MANNER
SO THAT WORKMEN AND THE PUBLIC ARE PROTECTED FROM
INJURY.
EROSION CONTROL NOTES:
1. EROSION CONTROL DEVICES ARE TO BE INSTALLED
BASED ON DETAILS PROVIDED UNDER THE APPROVED
PLANS. THE PLANS AND DETAILS ARE BASED ON THE
NC EROSION AND SEDIMENT PLANNING AND DESIGN
MANUAL, AND RECOGNIZED BEST MANAGEMENT
PRACTICES (BMP'S).
2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN CLOSE CONTACT
WITH THE EROSION CONTROL INSPECTOR. ADDITIONAL
EROSION CONTROL MEASURES MAY BE REQUIRED BY
THE EROSION CONTROL INSPECTOR THAT ARE NOT
INDICATED ON THE PLANS. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S
RESPONSIBILITY TO MAINTAIN EROSION ONSITE,
REGARDLESS OF THE MEASURES REQUIRED. ANY
CHANGE IN THE EROSION CONTROL MEASURES
AND\OR GRADING SHALL BE CALLED TO THE
ATTENTION OF THE ENGINEER AND THE EROSION
CONTROL INSPECTOR.
3. WEATHER FORECAST SHALL BE MONITORED. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL PREPARE FOR RAIN EVENTS BY
RE-EXAMINING ALL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES
PRIOR TO START OF PRECIPITATION. ANY
REINFORCEMENT OR CORRECTIONS SHOULD BE
PERFORMED AND DOCUMENTED.
4. IF FILL MATERIALS ARE TO BE BROUGHT ONTO THIS
PROJECT OR WASTE MATERIALS ARE TO BE TAKEN
FROM THIS PROJECT, THIS INFORMATION MUST BE
DISCLOSED AND SHOWN ON THE EROSION CONTROL
AND GRADING PLAN. BORROW AREAS AND DUMP
SITES ARE CONSIDERED TO BE PART OF THIS
PROJECT AND THE OWNER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
STABILIZATION AND EROSION CONTROL MEASURES AT
