Additional information is required before we may continue our review. Please address and submit the following item(s) within 30 (thirty) days of receipt of this letter. ❑ Permit Type Requested — Please clarify if the proposed modification is requested under the current Individual Permit or General Permit. Are you requesting rescission of the alternate permit? Do you wish to withdraw the AWI310015 renewal application received September 10, 2021? ❑ Permitted Capacity — The permitted capacity indicated on the application is 47,520 Feeder - Finish; however, the current permitted capacity is 48,520 Feeder -Finish (plus 4400 Farrow - Wean and 400 Wean -Feeder at the inactive Magnolia III site). Was the digester design based on 47,520 or 48,520 Feeder -Finish. Please also verify that the digester is only for the Feeder -Finish operation type. Please verify that information for all contacts is accurate and update the O&M Contact List. ❑ Transfer Force main —Sheet C.2.15.1A states that the Transfer Force Main from Lagoon 4-3 to Lagoon 4-1 is an existing force main. It is unclear to me where that pipe is located/aligned on either sheet C.2.15.1 or C.2.15.IA. Please clarify. ❑ Stormwater Outlet — Please provide a typical detail for outlet for stormwater removed from digester cover. Please also indicate location. ❑ Gas Utilization — Please provide information for the intended onsite and/or offsite use of the biogas. The current designated use is electrical generation. If this is not the case, please provide information regarding the decommissioning of generator and gas conditioning equipment. ❑ Clarification of Flare Model — Please verify that a separate flare will be kept on -site for use for each digester — a total of two. Where will these flares be stored? Will they be tested periodically? ❑ Gas Generation Estimate — Please submit an estimate for the daily volume of biogas to be generated by the proposed Digester. Please be aware that you are responsible for meeting all requirements set forth in North Carolina rules and regulations. Any oversights that occurred in the review of the subject application package are still the responsibility of the applicant. In addition, any omissions made in responding to the above items shall result in future requests for additional information.
