Since the toe protection did not extend beyond the permitted impacts and only resulted in a change in the type of impact, this email will suffice for our records. I found out on Friday that St. Wooten brought their fill slope out farther than was shown on the plans at ~STA 18+50 where they have removed their temporary fill. I was informed that they did not do the proposed undercut where the permit drawings called for excavation impacts but instead decided to do rock toe protection. The toe of the fill (toe protection) did not extend beyond their excavation impact limit. I asked them to stake the excavation impact limit (pink stakes) so that we could be sure. Do you either of you see an issue with this if we have not extended our permanent impacts, just the type of impact changed from what was called for in the permits? Please let me know if I can provide any additional information of if further coordination is required on this. ST Wooten has staked the excavation limits (proposed area of undercut which was not done) This is related to our meeting last week 4/1/2022, and the question about the toe of slope in the vicinity of Station 18+50 Per our meeting, it was indicated that this is likely in an area of permanent impacts mitigated for undercut so probably OK if toe of slope extends some beyond plan line because already mitigated, as long as not beyond the excavation limits. However, you indicated that you would also need to discuss with the agencies. Thanks, Daniel R.
