NCWRC is planning to renovate the Old Sparta boat ramp on the Tar
River. There is an existing ramp and canal that are in poor condition
that will be abandoned. A new ramp in a new shoreline location is
proposed near the old bridge location (new NCDOT bridge completed
in 2020/2021) that will not include a canal or new dredging.
Improvements to the existing gravel parking lot to delineate parking
are also planned as part of the project.
