Inspection Summary:
pH samples have exceeded the benchmark consistently for several years. Records from 2020 show tier response sampling.
Monthly monitoring was conducted from January through December 2020, pH readings were consistently above 11. There
were also several TSS exceedances.
The facility should still be conducting monthly monitoring as part of a tier response based on the 2021 analytical results.
During the site visit, excess water was in use onsite. The basins were overflowing, and water was overtopping the basin and
flowing offsite. Facility personnel tested the pH of the water leaving the site and the pH measured 10. A pump was in use
onsite that was adding acetate to treat the water. The pump and the circulating water were located in an adjacent basin and
was not treating the water at the same rate that water was overflowing and leaving the site.
There were riser structures visible in one or two basins that appear to be completely submerged. It is likely there are some
obstructions, and the basins are not working as intended.
Changes will need to be made to properly manage stormwater and wastewater onsite. A follow up inspection will occur on
April 12, 2022 to determine next steps.
