Hi Fran,
After consulting with resource agencies, your request on behalf of Holden Beach to allow dredging
and pipeline demobilization for the current project through April 8 is approved. Raking and tiling the
project area can continue through April as previously discussed, but work must be completed with
all equipment removed from the beach prior to May 1.
Please let me know this morning if you have any questions. I'll be out on leave starting this afternoon
and through next week- if you have anything urgent needing immediate attention in my absence,
please call Tara MacPherson here in our Wilmington office, or (my supervisor) Jonathan Howell, who
is in our MHC office. That office number is 252-808-2808 and Tara's number is 910-796-7266.
Have a great week -
Heather

Heather,
So the permit says that tilling must be done prior to May 1 and we have been using that for our
tilling planning. I will check in with Weeks to see about the tiller's timeline.
Raking was planning on occurring in April as well (prior to May 1).
Thanks
Fran

Thanks Fran. So they think they can complete all work & demob, including tilling and raking, by the
end of April 8? Or will that just be dredging and pipeline demob and tilling and raking will continue?
Thanks again!
Heather

Hi Fran,
Will they be dredging until the 8th or is the additional time just for demobilization?
Thanks,
Heather

Hi Heather,
Per our discussions, the town of Holden Beach would like to extend the beach nourishment permit
to Friday, April 8, 2022.
Weeks is doing their best to finish by the end of March and get to their next project but they may
need a little more time.
Thanks
Fran
