Dear Mr. Currey:
Urban Engineers, Inc. (Urban), on behalf of National Gypsum Company (NGC), is requesting
that Nationwide Permit (NWP-35) SAW-1994-03672 for maintenance dredging at Gold Bond
Building Product's Wilmington, NC berthing facility be extended. There are no changes to the
proposed maintenance dredging, the contractor is just unable to perform the work prior to the
March 18, 2022 expiration date. A copy of the permit has been attached.
As before, the proposed maintenance dredging consists of dredging approximately 17,00 cubic
yards of material via hydraulic and mechanical dredging. The dredging will be conducted to a
depth of -36 feet MLW plus 2 foot of allowable overdredge. The dredged material will either be
transported to the private CDF located across the Cape Fear River from the dredge location. The
CDF is Parcel No. 05900006 in Brunswick County, NC.
